Sometimes we forget to enjoy the normal, mundane day-to-day of life.
So,
What does a typical week look like in the house...
Games of Exploding Kittens....
And quality time with the dog watching mom work in the basement!
The older I get, the more I learn to appreciate life's simple and "boring" aspects. And our kids seem to appreciate the simple things more than the big things too!
For example,
We do a BEST/WORST sharing at dinner most nights.."What was the best part of your day", and "what was the worst part of your day"...
One of the trends we have noticed during the sharing is that it is the simple things our kids appreciate the most.
Common responses are: Sitting down for dinner as a family, taking a walk, playing card/board games, and watching a movie together. Not always does the big stuff in life gets the most attention.
To be fair, they also say things like "pizza at school lunch" as the best part of the day...or "doing this" as the worst part of the day! We try to remember the good stuff, though.
Even when there is occasionally fighting and yelling, being together means we are still together.
